Support Our Push For Olympic Inclusion
As many of you already know, beyond just putting up a great training resource for karate athletes and coaches, one of our main dreams and missions is to get Karate into the Olympic Games.
Here's what we are doing and have in planning:
1. Spreading awareness of the sport of karate to the media and general public, creating a desire to see more of it. This in turn puts pressure on the IOC to vote it in.
2. We are in the development stages of producing a number of "Olympic Karate" TV commercials which we hope to air around the world. Billboards promoting the same will go up in major cities.
3. We hope to meet with as many IOC voting members as possible before Beijing in 2008 to promote our sport and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
4. We hope to have enough funds available at the time to produce a media blitz for Olympic Karate in Beijing during the Olympic Games.
5. We hope to be involved in a number of charity and youth development programs which will further show the sport of karate as a strong beneficial influence on communities.
6. We will sponsor athletes and events.
These are just a few of the things that we are doing or have in the works. Obviously all of this takes lots of money. I'm doing my bit by putting as much of my personal money into this dream as possible. We at Karate Athlete do not believe in charging athletes or coaches for useful information. However, if you find you have an extra $5 USD or so, then please make a donation by clicking here: Support KarateAthlete.com. Every dollar helps! Especially considering how many of us there are out there. It is rumored that it cost Taekwondo organizations over $1 million USD to achieve Olympic inclusion. That was many years ago. The cost now is probably several times that amount.
If you can't afford anything don't feel bad, we understand! We'll do the best we can with what we can bring in.
On behalf of all the young athletes dreaming of an Olympic medal in karate - on behalf of all of those who train hard to achieve excellence, and who dare to dream the Olympic dream for their sport - On behalf of all of these great young people, I thank you for your support.
